Series: Book #1
On the evening of Sofia Claremont's seventeenth birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake. A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood. She is kidnapped to an island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine. An island uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet. She wakes here as a slave, a captive in chains. Sofia's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn when she is the one selected out of hundreds of girls to join the harem of Derek Novak, the dark royal Prince.
Despite his addiction to power and obsessive thirst for her blood, Sofia soon realizes that the safest place on the island is within his quarters, and she must do all within her power to win him over if she is to survive even one more night. Will she succeed? ...or is she destined to the same fate that all other girls have met at the hands of the Novaks?
Mrs. Beamer's Review:
I am SO happy I was asked to review this book! While the world building was a bit lacking for me...the characters jumped off the page. I loved them all! Lucas was positively creepy...and Derek delivers as our dark and troubled leading man.
The book is very short, so there isn't too much else to say...other than I definitely NEED to read more from the series!! The author did her job. I am hooked :)

My favorite quote/s from this book:
"If you want to survive, you must realize that in this kingdom, you exist to obey."
"If I ever allowed myself to fall in love with Derek Novak, I was certain that I would forever be a captive of the Blood Shade."
"I knew the truth. She was no longer mine. In fact, it was the exact opposite. At some point during all those times I'd spent with her, I'd become hers."
